Back in 2017, the largest support network for women in business, Forward Ladies, announced that they would be bringing their networking, training and mentoring to Middlesbrough. 8 months on, these events have seen women from the area and beyond succeeding further in their field.

Regional director for Forward Ladies and host of the events in our area, Antonia Brindle, said:

“We have been running networking and training events successfully in six locations across the country for several years now.

"Since launching in 1999, Forward Ladies has offered support to many women in business, delivering original and inspiring events to help females achieve their career aspirations and services to help them progress their businesses.

“Newcastle plays host to the regional awards every September, which brings together women from across the North, including Scotland, Yorkshire and the North East.

"Many Teesside women have shown an interest in these awards, so when we looked at where was the best place to open our seventh regional operation in the UK, we chose Middlesbrough."

The current event that is running in Middlesbrough is a networking breakfast on the last Thursday of every month. It's the ideal event to share ideas, give out business cards and make new connections in an informal setting.

Each session is held in the luxurious Commerce House in Exchange Square, and Christine said:

“Commerce House was the perfect location for us, as it is synonymous with the town’s business community and well respected as a aspirational landmark. It also offers the right business support in the form of meeting rooms and event space, which just ooze quality after the renovations.”

So how does a Teesside Businesswoman get involved in such an event? You can either become a Forward Ladies member by paying a one off fee online, or by booking a ticket through Eventbrite.

The next Power Business Breakfast will be held on August 30th from 9:30AM - 11AM at Commerce House, Middlesbrough.
