A-level results day is often something that casts fears into the hearts of many students. However, it seems that the girls of Middlesbrough College and CCAD (Cleveland College of Art and Design) had nothing to fear and many of them aced their subjects!

According to The Guardian, the number of students achieving high grades in their A-levels is falling, but these girls are proving that their hard work has paid off.

Zahra (left) received her results this morning and is extremely excited to head off to study Medicine at Hull York Medical School.

Olivia (middle) achieved full marks in her Sport and Exercise BTEC and will be going on to study Physiotherapy at Leeds Beckett University.

Megan (right), Middlesbrough College's new student president, earned a triple distinction in her Applied Science course.

Fiona (left) is taking her Fine Art diploma further by studying at the top rated art school in the UK, Ruskin School of Art.

Sarah (middle) achieved success in Psychology, History of Art and Fine Art and has secured a place at The University of York to study History of Art in September.

Holly (right) is celebrating success in Psychology, History of Art and Fine Art and will be staying at CCAD for its first year as The Northern School of Art. She will study for a foundation diploma before heading to the School’s university-level campus in Hartlepool in September 2019.

Of course, while we're all about bigging girls up here on Tees and Cake and it's very exciting to see what these young women will be getting up to in the future, we have to say a big well done to every student today, no matter their gender!

You've all done amazingly well and we wish you well with your future plans.
